Ahead of Dharavi’s redevelopment, the BMC has floated a ₹2,368 crore tender for the bioremediation of 185 lakh tonnes of legacy waste at Deonar landfill. The goal is to reclaim 110 hectares of land for future use. This is part of the Swachh Bharat Mission guidelines. Critics allege the clean-up is intended to benefit the Dharavi Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), jointly run by the government and Adani Group.

धरावी पुनर्विकास परियोजना से पहले बीएमसी ने डेओनार कचरा मैदान की सफाई के लिए ₹2,368 करोड़ का टेंडर जारी किया है। इस टेंडर का उद्देश्य 1.85 करोड़ टन कचरे की बायोरिमीडिएशन करके 110 हेक्टेयर भूमि को पुनः प्राप्त करना है। यह कार्य स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के अंतर्गत किया जा रहा है। आलोचकों का कहना है कि यह सफाई कार्य धरावी पुनर्विकास परियोजना के तहत अदानी समूह को लाभ पहुँचाने के लिए किया जा रहा है।
